A Sally Lightfoot Crab (Grapsus grapsus) rests on lava rocks on the shore at Las Bachas of Isla Baltra. These crabs are highly agile and can appear to leap from perch to perch. They feed in the intertidal zone and rest out of reach of the turbulent sea spray.
