Artist's Description

A school of coho salmon, also called silvers, migrates upstream in Issaquah Creek in Washington State. Salmon wait in the estuary for a rainstorm to fill the river and send the signal it is time to migrate to the spawning grounds. Coho salmon are silver in their ocean phase, then turn deep red as they migrate through freshwater streams.
